Reputational Risk in Higher Ed: More Talk Than Action?

KGC will join Janice Abraham, President and CEO, United Educators and Paul Walker, Ph.D., CPA, Executive Director, Center for Excellence in ERM, St. John’s University for a discussion about how higher ed institutions can identify and manage threats to their reputation. Topics will include the state of reputational risk at colleges and universities, how institutions manage reputational risk, types of incidents that threaten reputations, and best practices to effectively identify and mitigate risks.

HUMS 411 – Life Worth Living Lecture – “Yale’s Vision of a Life Worth Living”

Students will be taking a course that centers around cultural, religious, and philosophic visions of the “good life.” Specifically, students will be exploring how institutions can have explicit and implicit visions of the good life. Secretary Goff-Crews’ session will build upon a week where students will have written papers about visions of the good life that Yale promotes for its students both implicitly and explicitly.

International Festival of Arts and Ideas - Program on Tyranny

Kim hosts Timothy Snyder, one of the leading American historians and public intellectuals. He is the Housum Professor of History at Yale University and a permanent fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna.

His latest book, On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century is currently number one on the New York Times Best Seller list. Snyder first introduced these lessons in a Facebook post in November 2016, just days after the presidential election. The post has since received more than one million views, having been reposted, republished, and retweeted countless times. Snyder’s lessons have resonated with a world-wide audience.
